About

Amy-Leigh Merritt, PhD

Director, Medical Writer

Amy-Leigh Merritt, Director of Merritt Medical Writing, began her career in medical communications almost 10 years ago. After spending 4 years in the lab, completing a PhD in genetics and cardiovascular development, she realised that her true passion lies in understanding the literature and synthesizing complex ideas together into coherent, clear, and concise documents.

Amy made the move into medical writing in 2014 and enjoyed a fast-paced career, developing a wide range of deliverables, across several therapy areas. At the end of 2023, Amy made the decision to try her hand at freelancing. So, armed with her laptop and a wealth of knowledge gained from working in a medical communications agency, Amy set up Merritt Medical Writing Ltd.
